Adjusting the FUV Windshield Wiper

1. Remove small cover on front to expose the bottom of the windshield wiper arm

2. Remove nut and star washer on the wiper arm

3. Hinge the wiper arm towards your body

4. Work the arm off the shaft

5. Move arm 1-2 teeth on the spline. Slide arm back on shaft.

6. Put star washer and nut back on

If the wiper blade rotates so the top part rotates over the edge but the bottom part is correct, there might be too much play in the joints on the arm and blade. It is also possible that Arcimoto installed the arm backward. The hook that the blade attaches to is intended to be rotated 180 degrees, which would place the moment of rotational torque in line with the main rod on the arm, rather than the smaller secondary rod where they are now. The additional distance may cause greater wear on the joints.

This was totally helpful, my FUV arrived with a misaligned wipe. So I watched your video and it was just as you described. My only regret is that I hadn't read your accompanying text - as I was pulling the arm off the ribbed portion I heard something metal drop into some spot I couldn't see or easily access. I convinced myself it must have been a washer and found a reasonable replacement.

Thanks again.
